After graduating from U.C. Irvine with honors Andrew began working in the insurance industry as a claims examiner, which included the management of complex litigation. Andrew subsequently attended John F. Kennedy School of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate degree in December of 1998 and then passed the bar in February 1999. As a law student and during the first years of his practice Andrew was a member of the Contra Costa County Inn of Court, an organization dedicated to increasing professionalism, civility and ethics among members of the bar. For the past fifteen years Andrew has been focused on civil litigation, including the defense of cases involving catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death, premises liability, product liability, commercial and residential construction, contracts, and employer liability. Andrew has also had a successful track record in the appellate court and is credited with a published decision from Third District Court of Appeal which struck down a California Statute that was intended to nullify arbitration agreements in residential construction contracts: Shepard v. Mackay (2007)148 Cal.App.4th 1092.
Andrew is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts, and in the United States Supreme Court. He has litigated cases in nearly every county in the State of California and in administrative venues, including hearings before the California Labor Commissioner and the Contractors State License Board. Andrew is also a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Association of Defense Counsel.
